THE ARTIST
ABOUT ME
Decoding the semiotics of the invisible web.
Since completing my visual design studies in Romania and the UK, I, Dragoș Păvăloi (a.k.a Grafo), have been creating traditional and new media art, reflecting upon and exploring urban visual aesthetics and the artefacts of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Decoding the semiotics of antennas, network towers, and other telecommunication lines through scientific research at Staffordshire University led me to a profound fascination with these omnipresent structures.
Loading urban rooftop landscapes with arrays of metallic spikes and piercing the rural horizon with massive frames, my art seeks to raise awareness of the invisible role that technology plays in our innovation-driven society.
My work focuses on the dimension, scale, monotony, and materiality of "industrial sculptures" hidden in plain sight, alongside modern communication infrastructures, exploring their potential impact on humanity. I employ a cross-media approach to present the signs of technoculture that fuel our hyper-connected society.

I am always open to cross-media collaborations, gallery exhibitions, and bold artistic experiments.
